Early this week, I woke up to news of Felix Baumgartner and his daredevil leap from space. It was all over Facebook and Twitter and before I could even have my morning coffee, Felix was safe on the ground and a YouTube sensation.

Twenty-fours miles above the Earth’s surface, in a pressurized suit, and before breaking the sound barrier; Baumgartner took a moment to reflect on his life and the seven years of training that brought him to this moment:

“Trust me, when you stand up there on top of the world, you become so humble. It’s not about breaking records any more. It’s not about getting scientific data. It’s all about coming home.”

Felix Baumgartner and his leap from space was a personal conquest, a true test of human nature, and the limits that define us.
