As a former model and actress, Kimberly Fisher has traveled the world and has developed a keen eye for fashion. She has taken those loves and channeled them into a blogging and freelance writing career, as author of the blog and writing for publications such as Just Luxe and NiteGuide Magazine. And she talks to us about her experiences, below!

Q: What inspired you to start blogging?

A: I started blogging in 2008 to document my own travels of the world and I have always had a love for writing. I have been to 52 countries and counting! Covering everything from beauty to fashion to lifestyle.

Q: Does being a former model influence your love for fashion and beauty blogging?

A: I think it would be hard not to be influenced after being involved for so long in the beauty and fashion industry. Spending most of my time on the West coast and then relocating to NYC, I have an eclectic mix of style and fashion. You get to see up close and personal what all of the trend setters are doing, while being around some of the most creative, fun and spirited people.

Q: What is your favorite part of being a professional blogger and freelance writer?

A: I love being creative, the ever-changing projects and finding trends before they go mainstream. Living in New York City, it also feels like it is the center of the writing universe–if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.

Q: What is the most challenging part or your career?

A: Time management seems to be the most challenging thing at the moment. I still freelance for several publications including Just Luxe and NiteGuide Magazine, as well as run my blog and am in the process of launching a luxury philanthropic magazine called LuxeSoul.

Q: Where do you get ideas for your posts?

A: Everywhere. Anyone or anything can spark an idea for an article or blog post. I tend to read a lot, so sometimes something I see will inspire me.

Q: Any tips for PR professionals who want to get in contact with you?

A: You can always find me at I am also obsessed and totally connected on social networks, so you can find me on Facebook,  Twitter and Pinterest.

Q: What are you PR pet peeves, or what is the strangest pitch you’ve received?

A: I don’t tend to have a lot of pet peeves, and love reading and learning about anything new. I do get pitches for everything, so I sometimes wonder what possessed people to send me pitches on mining equipment or men enhancement products.
