Your Replacement to Buffer, Get Flint!

Earlier this month, Viralheat announced that our popular publishing extention if now available on Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. The extension or add-on, as frequently called, allows users to publish to social media from anywhere on the web. Right now, Viralheat allows users to publish and schedule posts on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Linked with additional platforms coming soon.

As Viralheat’s Community Manager I have found this to be an amazingly, helpful tool that puts time back in my day. But don’t just take my word for it, try it out yourself..it’s free! These quick steps will get you going with Flint in no time at all.

Step 1- Get the extension from your preferred browsers app store. (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) Once the extension is selected and has been downloaded, the Viralheat logo will be added to the top right corner of every open page. If you are a new user of Viralheat you’ll want to create a free account now or if you’re an existing user, sign into your account and you’re ready to get started!

Step 2- Now that the extension is added and you’re set up with a Viralheat account, begin to browse the web. Find articles and blog posts to share with your social networks. By simply clicking on the Viralheat icon in the corner the publishing box will appear. All of Viralheat’s powerful publishing features are available through Flint.

– Choose to post to one, some, or all of you social media accounts
– Add text or images
– Shorten URLs using bit.ly
– Schedule posts for future publishing
– Preview posts shared to Facebook
– Post to Groups
– Filter accounts by platform

Step 3- In the publishing box, notice the green and blue ovals on the right side, these buttons will help you manage your various social media account and makes publishing to your accounts hassle free. The green oval button filters by platform. When selected, you’ll have the choice to pick Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn. This will ensure the only accounts that will be listed for you to publish to will be from that specified platform. The blue button is our Group Publishing feature. With Viralheat you can create groups which include a variety of social media accounts. For example, you may have a work account that has all the social media accounts for your business and then a personal account.
