#CMWorld 2013: A Data-Driven Analysis

With sessions filled with insight from Jay Baer, Jonathan Mildenhall, Ann Handley, Michael Brenner, William Shatner (!) and more, Content Marketing World 2013 was packed with content enthusiasts like us.

SVP of Digital Content Heidi Sullivan and Director of Product Marketing Laurie Mahoney attended and chronicled some of their favorite content marketing quotes from CMWorld 2013 sessions.

We pulled data using the Cision Social Media Dashboard to take a deeper look at the social noise to see what all the chatter was about. With a few clicks, we found:

Topic Analysis – Total number of mentions using #cmworld or cmworld on Sept. 9-11:

From Sept. 9-11, CMWorld was mentioned 21,248 times!

We also looked at the ‘Unique Source Count,’ which indicates the number of unique individuals mentioning CMWorld, and there were more than 3,700!

Topic Trends – Flow of online conversations during the span of the conference:

The biggest spike occurred at 9 a.m. ET on Sept. 10, during Jay Baer’s keynote on Why Smart Marketing is about Help Not Hype. Directly behind that was a spike at 2 p.m. ET, when The Coca-Cola Company’s Jonathan Mildenhall took the stage for his keynote, From Happiness Factory to Content Factory – How Coca-Cola is Growing Through Liquid Storytelling.
