How To: Use Embedded Facebook Posts/Tweets to Help Your Business

Just recently, the two major social media networks announced that its users could now embed their tweets and Facebook posts on their websites or blogs. I don’t know about you but I’m pretty excited about this. Facebook news feeds and Twitter timelines move rapidly and if you now want a post of yours to be seen, you can drive some exposure to it in a creative way instead of having to post it again on your channels. With that being said, let’s look at some fun ways to make the most of this awesome news.

How to embed a Facebook/Tweet: First things first, if you haven’t heard of this announcement, you’re probably confused and wondering how to get the source code for your post. In Facebook, simply go to the post you want to embed and look for the “down arrow” button on the right hand side. Click on that, scroll to the very bottom, and look for “Embed Post.” On Twitter, find the tweet you want to embed. Click on the “more” button near the bottom right. This will open up a list of options, click on “Embed Tweet.” Embedded tweets are accepted anywhere that allows HTML content.

Build your reputation with testimonials: You no longer have to share screen shots of Tweets or favorable Facebook posts. Find the tweets and posts you like best and embed them in a blog post or your website to show how well your business is doing and growing. Find testimonials by looking through your Twitter mentions and other posts on Facebook where you might have asked for product feedback and gotten a favorable response.

Encourage viral reach of your content: Want more likes on Facebook? Want more retweets of an event or a contest you’re promoting? Share it on Facebook and Twitter first and then embed it on your website or within a blog post. The great thing about embedded posts is that the shares and activity keep going and don’t stop just because the post has been embedded.

Increase traffic and promote a Tweet chat: Just started a tweet chat and need more audience members or have you tweet chats been a little stale lately? Did you know that you can embed a Twitter search? Got a clever hashtag for your Tweet chat? Embed the search results for the hashtag on your site or in a blog post to get people talking or to encourage participation.

Keep the conversation going: Got a viral Tweet or Facebook post and you want exposure for it or a different audience? Or maybe you just want more eyes on a post you created. Embed the post on your site or in a blog post for a new perspective to collect relevant feedback.
