How to get your Facebook Page to show up in Facebook Graph Search results
A while back, we wrote about what Facebook Graph Search could do for you and how you could use it to target your audience and see what they’re up to. Now let’s talk about how that same audience can find you.
Graph Search allows you and your customer to use simple phrases to search for people, places, and things that match specific search criteria. As a business, it’s important you take some time to optimize your page so that is visible in a variety of search results.
In addition to optimizing your page for maximize visibility, it’s also important to note that all of the info on your page should be up to date, accurate, and any copy should be checked for errors and inconsistencies. To help make sure your page is easily found in Graph Search results, follow these tips listed below:
Choose the right category: People find your company based on the category listed for your page. If you haven’t picked a category, chances are, your page isn’t found by half the people that are searching for it since category search is the most popular search result. It’s important to choose a category that best suits your business needs. To access the category section, visit your “about” section and pick from the categories listed.
Check your business address: People looking for your business need to be able to find you, right? After looking up a category, people then look for the business that’s closest to them. It only makes sense. So make sure your business is listed correctly with the appropriate cross streets and other relevant information.
Fill out your entire profile: It’s a tedious and painful process but it’s for a worthwhile cause and if you think of it that way, you’ll be done before you know it. Taking the time to fill out your profile will not only improve your graph search results but will also help a potential customer decide whether or not to do business with you. Remember: once they land on your page, it’s all about first impressions so take the time to highlight success stories and what your business can do for them.
Keywords, keywords, keywords: Graph Search is all about SEO goodness and important keywords about your company will help get you found. Make sure your “about” section is rich with keywords about your business. Bonus tip: in addition to adding those keywords to your “about” section, make sure they’re also used in status updates and appended to any posts as hashtags.
Post and tag photos/videos: Tag your own photos and videos and encourage others to check-in to your business on Facebook and tag your photos and posts to gain visibility in their news feeds. Tagging photos and posts can greatly improve graph search rankings and push your posts to the top of news feeds. Also make sure these posts include keywords and hashtags.
