Featuring five travel blogs for summer pitches

Full open suitcase on tropical beach backgroundWhile summer isn’t the only time of the year people travel, it’s one of the most popular, with kids off school and the warm days making everyone slow down just a bit. While pitching magazines with travel-related stories might be too late at this point, there are plenty of travel blogs with great, relatable content. In anticipation of the summer months, the following is a selection of five travel blogs from across the Vocus database.

Adventures By Daddy – This comprehensive site features a blended mix of places to go with an eye toward family travel. Blogger Dave Parfitt gives detailed descriptions on different types of travel, including solo trips, cruises and even adventures aimed specifically at men. He also features TV shows that deal with adventure and travel.

Europe Up Close – Both bloggers for this site work within the travel industry and have traveled in Europe extensively, providing detailed accounts of attractions from London street art to the Amsterdam Zoo. Focusing on travel and accommodations in Europe, while also providing reviews, the bloggers bill their site as “the insider’s guide to travel in Europe.”

Go Big or Go Home: This blog features the travel adventures of one family. The focus of their travels? To visit the world’s record-holding attractions and most interesting vacation spots. Whether it’s swimming with a stingray in the world’s largest salt water lagoon (in the Cayman Islands), or finding fun at Ocean City, Maryland’s Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum, this blog shares the family’s efforts to “go big.”

Have Baby Will Travel – This blog started out as a stop for parents looking to travel with babies and toddlers, which, as any parent knows, can sometimes seem more like a hassle than a vacation. It features posts about everything from travel stroller options to international trips and road trips with kids, as well as tips on what to pack for babies.

Theme Park Insider – And what would summer be without theme parks? This blog rates theme parks and amusement parks both in the U.S. and internationally, while also reviewing hotels, attractions and restaurants.
