We’re always looking for the most efficient way to meet our campaign goals, and enhancements in technology have given us the ability to spend more time building relationships, and less time sorting and collecting data.
As a supplement to using Cision’s PR Software, we often use these tools to make the most of our time:
1) Google Trends— Get a snapshot of what is trending in the search world, and you can even sign-up for email updates on specific topics. This tool can be especially useful if you have an expert you’re looking to promote. Set an alert for their specialty and when it gains steam, offer their insight to editors.
2) Cision’s Free Editorial Calendar Tool— With nearly a million opportunities, you’re bound to find an outlet covering your client’s topic area. You can search by topic, date, and outlet name, and can download to Excel with one click.
3) StayFocusd— If the Internet sucks you in with its puppy pictures and funny videos, use this Chrome app to block sites until your task is complete. Your future self will thank you for it.
