Lorraine Ali Changes Beats at LA Times
Lorraine Ali, who has served as music editor for the Los Angeles Times since October 2011, is now a senior writer covering pop culture trends and news for the paper. Prior to rejoining the paper, where she was originally a music columnist, she was with Newsweek as a general editor, music critic and contributing culture and entertainment editor. She previously worked as a senior critic for Rolling Stone and a music columnist for Mademoiselle. She has also been a regular contributor to GQ and has published work in The New York Times, The Village Voice, Entertainment Weekly, Harper’s Bazaar and US magazine. Deputy music editor Chris Barton will serve as acting music editor until a replacement is named. Catch Ali’s coverage on Twitter.
