Featuring five sports blogs for football season
It’s that time of year when Buffalo wings and beer are synonymous with football. As Fantasy Football rankings begin to dominate conversations, sports fanatics turn to the web to follow stats and follow their favorite blogs. Buffalo Rumblings—While this blog concentrates on the Buffalo Bills, it also provides analysis of games with whomever the Bills happened to play most recently. It also features fan postings, news and analysis as well as opinions and discussions.
Guys Gab—This blogs isn’t just for sports lovers. Targeting men, Guys Gab touches on topics that include cars, models, technology, movies, music, TV, fitness, travel and product reviews. From postings featuring commentary on the latest sports news, to fantasy football, to mean tweets and news on the release of football-oriented video games, this blog provides enough sports while being versatile on a number of other topics.
Kegs N Eggs—Written with humor, this blog focuses primarily on college football. Featuring a regular podcast, blogger Adam Kramer notes on the blog that content is provided in a different way than on television or in press releases, touching on spring games, Twitter meltdowns and “the ridiculousness that makes college football the best sport on the planet.”
Spree Googs –This quirky sports blog features sports rankings, fantasy sports, trivia, nostalgia and commentary on television, claiming to be “mostly about sports,” according to the tagline. Spree Googs also includes mock drafts while illustrating a penchant for nineties television and movies.
Rivals.com–A hardcore sports blog if there ever was one, Rivals.com features news, video highlights, league standings and trades for virtually all professional sports and most collegiate sports. Known for its recruiting coverage, it was acquired by Yahoo! in 2007.
