Prepare Your PR for the Holidays
Pumpkin spice is in the air, which can only mean one thing: the holidays are coming.
For those of us in PR, the change in scent and season indicates it’s time to ready our holiday campaigns. To see the best results, consider the following tips:
Look at data from past holiday campaigns and the past year. Use that information to guide your future campaigns. Also, remember to benchmark this year’s results against last year’s.
Follow trends and, when appropriate, insert yourself into the conversation. Many brands, including Stand Up To Cancer and FedEx, have seen success by inserting themselves into ongoing trends like ugly holiday sweaters and holiday shipping woes.
Discover what your local community is doing. The holiday season is a time to give back. While you may not want to promote your charity efforts outright, supporting the community is a great method for raising awareness and interest in what your brand does or sells.
The holidays may not be here yet, but it’s never too early to start preparing for them. The best holiday PR campaigns all start with great planning.
