Last week on March 5th, Josh Martin, Director of Digital and Social Media, Arby’s guest-hosted the 13th session of #MetricsChat series. We discussed “Social Media Listening” and discovered how to make an impactful marketing strategy, using some of the cool tips from the conversation.
Without any further delay, here is the summary from our Twitter chat:
Q1. @ksalkind3: How do you define the difference between brand advocates and key influencers?A1. @JMart730: To me, brand advocates would be people who are passionate about our brand. Key influencers would be people with a significant following. Both are important.
Q2. @lsvitenko: Do you build off of any of the conversations going on in pop culture i.e. Daily Show? A2. @JMart730: Absolutely. We are always looking for opportunities in pop culture. However, we strive not to force it.
Q3. @suruchisharma23: Any use cases of social media listening leading to ROI or enhanced brand awareness? A3. @JMart730: The tweet during the 2014 #Grammys certainly helped build awareness.
Q4. @TEK: What are key the top three ingredients for @arbys to ensure content is engaging across social networks? A4. @JMart730: Be relevant to your audience. 2) Know the platform. 3) Test, Learn, Optimize.
Q5. @dumb_captcha: Whats your opinion on the Daily Show/The Simpsons poking fun at the Arbys brand? Good or Bad? A5.@JMart730: Not understanding it. Bringing social monitoring in-house at @Arbys has been a major benefit to the brand. It’s all good in my eyes. We play along & poke fun at ourselves, too.
Q6. @lisafromhtx: Is there any pattern between spontaneous/planned content and corresponding metrics? A6. @JMart730: Overall, we tend to see spontaneous content generally perform better than our planned content, which is why social listening is so important to recognize opportunities to engage where it makes sense.
