1. Not enough people are seeing your content
“There’s so much noise out there, it’s very hard to get people to see your content,” says Ian.
To stand out in the crowd, you need to make sure you’re sharing your content in the right places and to the right audiences. You also need to take into account the time of day. If you’re sharing your content in the evening, when only a few members of your audience are online, chances are the ones who aren’t online won’t get the chance to see it.
Use a social publishing tool to schedule your content to post at the times when the most people will see it. You’ll be able to manage multiple channels and track the engagement of your post as well.
2. You aren’t using your audience to amplify your content
Your audience can be a valuable tool in getting more people to share your content. According to Ian, “the more you can get your audience to share your content, the better for you because you’re getting an even bigger audience.”
When your audience shares your content with their friends and followers, you can increase your audience exponentially.
An audience sharing tool makes it easy for you to encourage your audience to share your content. Decide what actions you want your audience to take and track the activities they’re already carrying out.
3. Your content has spelling errors
Spelling and grammar may seem like a minor problem, but it can have major consequences. A little mistake in your content, such as using the wrong your/you’re or their/there/they’re, can be detrimental to your brand’s reputation.
It can also hurt your SEO rankings. “If you have spelling issues in your content on your website, Google sees that as bad content,” says Ian.

4. You don’t have good relationships with influencers
“Influencers are going to be increasingly important as a gateway to your audience,” Ian says.
Influencers extend your reach, much in the same way as utilizing your audience does. When influencers share your content with their followers, you’re getting much more exposure than you would have on your own.
With a social monitoring tool, you can identify the biggest influencers in your industry and how much of an effect they have on your audience. Once you’ve found them, you can engage with them to start building a relationship.
5. You aren’t promoting your content enough

Ian says you should “spend more time promoting your content than writing it.”
Use a social media analytics tool to monitor your audience and find out where your content will make the most impact. Find out who has shared similar content in the past. Most likely they’ll be interested and willing to share yours, too.
