The team at Bloomberg Technology must have heard some music because they’ve been doing the (beat) shuffle. Global head of technology coverage Brad Stone outlined some new staff coverage in a recent memo. Jillian Ward’s role as U.S. tech team leader has been made permanent after she served as the team’s interim leader for the past nine months. Tokyo-based Peter Elstrom, most recently managing editor for Asian companies, is now Asia team leader. Brian Womack, whose recent coverage has included Google and Yahoo, will move to cover enterprise companies including Salesforce and Dell, as well as continuing to keep tabs on Yahoo. Startups reporter Eric Newcomer will narrow his coverage to the growing field of “on-demand” companies like Uber, Lyft, and Airbnb. Alex Webb will join his colleagues in San Francisco early next year to begin coverage of Apple; Webb is currently based in Munich. Finally, New York-based Joshua Brustein will now cover changes in the media and advertising industries, specifically focusing on how technology is disrupting the field.
