3 Ways to Improve Your PAC Communication

If you can’t communicate why your PAC is important, then you won’t be able to convince anyone to join or contribute to it.

Effective communication is key to increasing participation and raising money for your PAC – not only for solicitation, but for marketing and education as well. But how do you do it effectively?

Whether you’re communicating with the intent of solicitation or education, your communication should always be consistent. Creating a strategic, comprehensive communication plan will ensure that your messaging remains unified.

This way, you’ll give a strong impression to anyone who reads your communication, and you can ensure that you answer any questions members or potentials members may have.

2. Show value

Why should a donor join your PAC? Why be involved in politics? If you can’t answer these questions in 30 words or less, you’re going to lose people’s attention – fast.

You need to create a simple, understandable definition of why your PAC matters. Then, convey that value to your audience to persuade them to participate and donate.

It’s not just about solicitation either. You want to educate your audience and show the value of your PAC at all times – not just when you’re asking for money.

3. Grab attention

If your audience doesn’t read your communication, you won’t even get a chance to convince them to get involved. You need to ensure your message not only gets read, but also makes an impact.

Start by choosing the right subject line. Test different options and research your audience to find the subject line that will increase your open rate and get more people to read your message.

Once you’ve gotten the attention of your audience through your subject line, you need to keep them hooked. Consider using a strong, mobile-friendly visual, such as an infographic, to convey your PAC’s value in an appealing and effective way.
