5 Tips for Pitching Oriana Schwindt from the International Business Times
Oriana Schwindt is a TV reporter for International Business Times and has been with the publication since 2015. She covers topics related to broadcast, cable, SVOD, ad marketplace, content and TV tech and we chatted with her about her pitching preferences. Read on for five poignant tips on how to best get her attention.
What kind of press releases do you want to receive?
I love a good study–viewership habits (mobile/linear/SVOD), etc.
What advice do you have for PR professionals trying to pitch you?
Do not call. If I don’t get back to you the first time, I did probably read your e-mail but just didn’t have time to respond: I receive well over 200 emails a day in addition to having to report and write.
Do you have any pet peeves when it comes to working with PR?
Seriously, don’t call me. And definitely don’t call my cell phone to pitch.
Do you accept pitches via social media?
I do use Twitter to monitor breaking news, but I really, really don’t like receiving pitches via Twitter. I also will probably refuse your friend request on Facebook–I try to keep my personal and professional digital presences separate.
