More Departures at Mashable
Mashable has parted with several staffers recently, as Amanda Willis, Brian Ries and Juana Summers have all headed to CNN. Willis, who served as deputy executive editor at Mashable will serve as a senior editor on the Digital News Desk. Ries, who served as real time news editor for Mashable, has been named senior producer on the Social Publishing team. And Summers, Mashable’s political editor who was part of the layoffs at the site announced last month, is now politics editor for CNN.
Additionally, politics reporter Emily Cahn and senior video producer Lindsey Ferrier have departed to join Mic. Cahn will serve as a senior writer for the site covering the election and politics, while Ferrier will take on the role of video producer. Cahn was also part of the wave of layoffs last month.
Hillary Busis, who had been Mashable’s deputy entertainment editor since 2015 has joined Vanity Fairy as Hollywood editor. Chris Grasinger, who served as video producer for Mashable, is headed to TIME. Megan Specia, former assistant real-time editor is joining the video team at The New York Times. Celeste Allen has departed for a fellowship at the London School of Journalism.
