Dean Murphy Promoted at the NYTimes

Dean Murphy has been promoted to associate editor at The New York Times, and will oversee  investigative news and enterprise reporting across the newsroom, with a focus on the new administration. Murphy is currently the editor for the NYTimes’ Business Day — a position he has held since 2013 — and will move into his new role after a successor to his current position is named.  He has been with the Times since 2002 and has held various editorial roles, including San Francisco bureau chief, deputy national editor and deputy business editor.
