CisionScoop: Sanhita SinhaRoy has retired as managing editor for American Libraries, but will continue to serve as the interim publisher and editor of the magazine. SinhaRoy has been with American Libraries since 2011, where she started as an associate editor. She was previously a copy editor for Playboy, as well as managing editor for In These Times Magazine.
CisionScoop: The Philadelphia Media Network, which includes Philadelphia Daily News, Philly.com and The Philadelphia Inquirer, welcomes Holly Otterbein as Clout reporter. She will be covering local and state politics. She comes to the Philadelphia Media Network from Philadelphia Magazine, where she was a reporter.
Ivan Penn has announced that he has accepted an offer to join The New York Times as the alternative energy reporter. Penn was previously the Los Angeles Times energy reporter. He has also covered business and consumer affairs with the Tampa Bay Times in the past.
CBS Television Network has named Face the Nation host John Dickerson as the new co-anchor of CBS This Morning, replacing Charlie Rose. Dickerson will no longer host Face the Nation, but will remain a political columnist at Slate, as well as a co-host of Slate’s Political Gabfest podcast. He is also planning on continuing as a contributing editor for The Atlantic.
The Philadelphia Inquirer deputy business editor, Joanna McLaughlin, has left the newspaper. McLaughlin joined the Inquirer business desk in 2009, and before that she was the real estate editor. She has also held positions as the assistant editor for the Montgomery County Editor, as well as the copy desk chief for the Inquirer Neighbor.
Reporter Steve King has left WJCL-TV, the ABC affiliate in Savannah, Georgia, for sister station, WXII-TV, in North Carolina. He has joined the station as their evening reporter. King spent two years at WJCL.
Director of new media Doug Harbrecht has retired from Kiplinger’s Personal Finance. Harbrecht joined Kiplinger in 2006 from BusinessWeek Online, where he was the senior and executive editor. Prior to that, he was a Washington correspondent covering the White House, Congress and international economics. h/t Talking Biz News
Sensi Magazine has brought on Jake Browne as the managing editor of Denver and Boulder, Colorado. In his new role he will be covering the environment. He is also a contributing writer and reviewer for the Cannabist, covering marijuana.
The Denver Post publisher and CEO, Mac Tully, announced that he will be leaving the newspaper Jan. 31. Prior to taking the helm at the Denver Post, Tully served as the publisher for the San Jose Mercury News, the Kansas City Star and the Bradenton Herald.
