CisionScoop: CNN‘s Bangkok, Thailand-based correspondent, Saima Mohsin, has announced she is no longer with the network. Prior to taking over coverage concerning Asia, Mohsin was a correspondent covering Pakistan.
CisionScoop: Anna Halkidis has been named senior web editor for Long Island Pulse Magazine. Halkidis has been with the outlet since 2016, when she started as web editor. She was previously with Little Things, where she held positions as a staff writer and associate editor.
CBS Television’s Face the Nation has a new moderator in Margaret Brennan. In addition to her new role on Face the Nation, Brennan will continue as the CBS News White House and foreign affairs correspondent. She will begin her new role Feb. 25.
Marjorie Olster will be joining The New York Times as an editor on the international desk, focusing on the Middle East with emphasis on Israel, Gaza and the West Bank. Olster comes to NYT from The Wall Street Journal, where she has been an editor covering the Middle East since 2013. She starts her new position March 1.
After a combined six-and-a-half years with Gizmodo, deputy executive editor Tom Scocca is leaving the blog. During his time there, he worked on Deadspin, Gawker, and the Special Projects Desk. Prior to joining Gizmodo, Scocca was a blogger with Slate, as well as a reporter for the New York Observer.
Rituparna Chatterjee has stepped down as deputy editor for HuffPost India. Chatterjee was part of the team that launched the site, and had been with the outlet for the past three years. She had been serving as the interim editor in chief since August 2017. Officially taking over the editor in chief position in April 2018 is Aman Sethi.
The Hartford Courant welcomes Neil Vigdor as their new politics reporter, covering the governor’s race. Vigdor comes from Hearst Connecticut Media where he was a statewide politics reporter.
Sam Fellman has been named managing editor for Task & Purpose magazine. Fellman was previously with Buzzfeed, where he was world news managing editor. He has also served as a managing editor and reporter for Navy Times magazine.
The Nation has announced that Bijan Stephen will be taking over as music critic. Bijan comes from Vice, where he was a culture reporter. He has also had positions as an associate editor for The New Republic, as well as an editorial assistant for Vanity Fair.
