CisionScoop: SNEWS Outdoor welcomes Amelia Arvesen as assistant editor for the magazine. Prior to joining SNEWS Outdoor, Arvesen was a reporter with the Longmont Times-Call, as well as a reporter for The Ottawa Herald.
People Online has made a number of changes to its editorial staff, including:
- Charlotte Triggs moves from senior editor to deputy editor of People digital. Triggs has been with People since 2005, when she started as an editorial assistant. She has since held multiple positions including reporter, staff editor and senior writer.
- Alex Apatoff is now deputy editor of People Online. She was previously the deputy style director for the magazine, and before People, she was an assistant editor at Us Weekly Magazine.
- Former deputy news director, Maria Mercedes Lara, is now the programming director for People digital. Lara has been with the magazine since 2016, when she started as a news editor and moved up to senior news editor.
Shefali Kulkarni has joined the Washington Post as operations editor. Prior to that, she served as a producer for Public Radio International’s The World, as well as the audience engagement producer for BBC News. WaPo Online welcomes Christine Loman as social media producer. In the past, Loman has held social media and web editing positions with the York Daily Record and The Hanover Evening Sun.
CNET senior reporter Terry Collins has left the online magazine. He spent three years at the outlet covering topics ranging from sports, politics, pop culture, health and social networking through the prism of technology and the impact it has globally. Before coming to CNET, Collins was a reporter for The Associated Press and the Star Tribune.
The Hartford Courant says goodbye to vice president of digital publishing, Christine Taylor, as she moves to join the Chicago Tribune in the new role of managing editor of audience. Taylor was with The Hartford Courant since 2007, where she served as an online producer, home page editor and health editor. She is set to start her new position March 19.
Anne Craig has left WTNH-TV after being on air in Connecticut for 20 years. Craig has been anchoring the 5pm and 11pm news since 2014, and has been with the station as a reporter and anchor since 2011.
Photo gallery and web editor Jacob Bryant is no longer with Variety. Bryant started at Variety in 2015 as a staff writer. Prior to joining the magazine, he was an editorial fellow for the Omaha World-Herald as well as an opinion editor at Irrational Passions.
The Athletic St. Louis has brought on Mark Saxon as senior MLB writer; he will cover the St. Louis Cardinals. Saxon previously spent almost nine years at ESPN, and prior that reported for the Orange County Register. The Athletic St. Louis focuses on sports in St. Louis including NHL, MLB, NFL, NBA, NCAA Football, NCAA Basketball.
