CisionScoop: Lindsay Stein is now the editor of Campaign US in New York, overseeing public relations and the media industry; her first day was April 2. She was previously a reporter with Ad Age, as well as a senior consumer reporter for PRWeek.
CisionScoop: The Associated Press said farewell to Sandy Cohen, who served as an entertainment reporter for 13 years out of the Los Angeles bureau. She covered Hollywood and celebrities, and previously reported for the Daily Breeze out of Torrance, California. She also spent three years reporting for LA Weekly prior to her time at the Breeze.
CisionScoop: Jordan Shefte has parted ways with WOWT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Omaha, Nebraska, where she was daybreak traffic reporter and midday anchor. Shefte previously reported for KHAS-TV in central Nebraska as well as KAKE-TV in Wichita, Kansas.
CNN veteran Kyra Phillips has joined ABC News as a correspondent based in Washington. While at CNN, Phillips most recently worked as a correspondent for the documentary and investigative teams, and previously anchored the midday newsroom, as well as hosted a program on sister-network HLN.
This May, Anne VanderMey will join Bloomberg News as an editor on the venture capital team based in San Francisco. VanderMey is currently a senior editor for Fortune magazine in New York, where she has been on staff since 2010, also serving as a reporter and associate editor. h/t Talking Biz News
Caity Weaver will join The New York Times Styles desk and will additionally serve as a writer at large for New York Times Magazine. Most recently, Weaver was a writer and editor for GQ since October 2015. She previously worked for Gawker as a senior editor.
The Washington Post made several changes to its newsroom, including the following:
- Dan Eggen has been named Washington editor, covering the White House and Congress. He was previously the White House editor since late 2016.
- Dave Clarke has taken over Eggen’s role as White House editor. He previously served as the deputy White House editor and deputy editor of the national desk since joining the paper in May 2015.
- Donna Cassata is now the Congress editor after a brief stint as deputy Congressional editor. She joined WaPo in January after spending four years as a congressional news editor for the Associated Press.
Cristi Kempf joined Convene magazine in Chicago as executive editor of the meetings industry publication. She was most recently deputy national editor at the Chicago Tribune. Before her time at the Trib, she was a writer and reporter for Vatican Radio, editor in chief of E-Systems and Networking Magazine, and a features reporter at the Chicago Sun-Times.
Telemundo has swapped roles for two of its reporters: Victor Hugo Rodriguez has left the Houston bureau, and has taken over as a correspondent in Los Angeles. In turn, Edgar Muñoz left the Los Angeles bureau to serve as a correspondent based in Houston. They have both been with Telemundo since 2016.
