CisionScoop: Maggie Menderski has joined the Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky. She now serves as a city living reporter covering the retail and restaurant industry. Menderski was previously a reporter for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, The State Journal-Register, Quincy Herald-Wing and Marshall Democrat-News.
CisionScoop: Amy Yensi has departed from WJZ-TV. She originally joined the Baltimore CBS affiliate in 2015. Prior to that, she had been a reporter for News 12 in the Bronx and Brooklyn.
CisionScoop: Nation’s Restaurant News welcomed Nancy Luna as its new senior editor, overseeing coverage of the fast food restaurant industry. Luna comes from the Orange County Register where she covered national and regional food and restaurant industries.
Caitlin Conant will begin her role as political director for CBS News on April 9, leading the network’s politics and campaign coverage. She is currently the executive director of communications.
NBC’s Stay Tuned has brought on Lawrence Jackson as co-host of the Snapchat daily news show. Jackson was the former host for the re-launched Total Request Live on MTV and was also a host for Revolt TV.
Brian Schwartz is now a digital political finance reporter at CNBC. Prior to joining the outlet, Schwartz was a news producer for FOX Business Network. He has also worked for FOX News.
The Book Review section of The New York Times has named Ed Park and Hillary Chute as contributing columnists covering comics and graphic novels. Chute is a professor of English at Northeastern University, and is the author of Graphic Women: Life Narrative and Contemporary Comics. Park was editor of the Village Voice’s Literary Supplement and has written for the Los Angeles Times and The New Yorker.
The Washington Post has promoted Krissah Thompson to features editor overseeing coverage of politics, Washington society and related topics. Thompson was previously a features writer for the paper, including several years with the Style section.
Anthony Ponce is the newest morning anchor at WFLD-TV, the Fox affiliate in Chicago. Additionally, he hosts the podcast show “Backseat Rider”. He was previously a reporter for WMAQ-TV in Chicago.
Imus in the Morning aired its last show on March 29. Don Imus had been hosting the show on WABC-AM since December 2007. Prior to that, the show had been on WFAN-AM from 1993 to 2007.
Laura Goldberg has departed from the Houston Chronicle after 10 years with the outlet. She had been the senior editor for new print and digital initiatives, and prior to that she served as the business editor. h/t Talking Biz News
