CisionScoop: Dena Silver‘s last day as lifestyle editor of Observer will be April 27. After nearly three years with the online daily, she is going freelance covering fashion, travel, and lifestyle, and can be reached at email@example.com.
CisionScoop: Melissa Matthews departed from Newsweek and joined the staff at Men’s Health, where she is now a digital staff writer. While at Newsweek, Matthews was a writer and reporter covering science for nearly a year and a half.
CNBC recently announced the addition of three editorial staffers on its digital team:
CNN welcomes back Erica Hill as a lead fill-in anchor and national correspondent. This comes after two years as an anchor at CNN’s sister network, HLN, where she has anchored her show, “On the Story” since 2016.
Greg Burton, formerly executive editor of the Desert Sun in Palm Springs and a regional editor for the USA Today Network, has been named as executive editor for the Arizona Republic. While at the Desert Sun, Burton built and expanded one of the most respected Californian newsrooms winning national awards for public service and investigative reporting.
Quartz has added Annabelle Timsit to its staff as an early childhood development reporter. Timsit graduated last year from Georgetown University, and wrote for The Atlantic for nearly a year before stepping into her new role at Quartz.
Aidan McLaughlin was named managing editor of Mediaite, the online outlet focused on the media and media industry. Previously, he served as a reporter for the New York Daily News, before joining Mediaite over a year ago, where he has held a number of roles.
American Banker has a named Nathan DiCamillo as a reporter for its tech team. Previously he served as a general assignment reporter for the Credit Union Journal and he graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois in 2017.
After seven years at WKYC-TV, the Cleveland NBC affiliate, Brennan Donnellan has announced that he will be departing from the station at the end of May. A television news veteran of over 30 years, he looks forward to pursuing opportunities to focus on longer form stories and documentaries.
Fort Worth, Texas NBC affiliate KXAS-TV welcomes Paul Jones as its newest sports multimedia journalist. Before joining KXAS he was the sports director for WZTV in Nashville, Tennessee for fourteen years.
