CisionScoop: Kara Ladd will exit her position as partnerships editor at Hearst Digital Media this week after two years at the company. She will transition to a full-time freelance writer as well as focus on her blog, Boundless by Kara. Ladd will cover sustainable living, fashion, travel, home, non-toxic beauty, holistic wellness, and spirituality.
The San Francisco Chronicle has named William Nagel publisher of the newspaper. Her replaced Jeff Johnson, who is now president of the newspaper division for Hearst, owner of the Chronicle. Nagel was most reticently the vice president of shared audience for Cox Media Group, and prior to that worked for Tribune Publishing (tronc).
Jason Fine has been promoted to editor of Rolling Stone magazine, and will oversee all content, editorial strategy and operations. He was previously the managing editor of the outlet for three years. Fine has been at Rolling Stone since 1997, when he joined as editor at large.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle has parted ways with staff writer Ellie Hensley. She covered the healthcare industry, entertainment and general news since joining the outlet in 2013. Prior to that, she reported for Points North Atlanta and Columbia Home Magazine.
Michael Feeley has joined The News Journal, the main daily in Delaware, as executive editor, effective July 9. He has replaced David Ledford, who retired in March. Feeley was previously the director of content for The Patriot-News and its website, PennLive.com, and has been with the paper in various roles since 1989.
Jeevan Vittal has joined Spectrum News NY1 as Washington correspondent. He comes from WTIC-TV in Hartford, Connecticut, where he spent the last seven years as a reporter. Prior to that, Vittal worked for WENY-TV in Horseheads, New York as a general assignment reporter.
Cheddar has brought on Tanaya Macheel as reporter covering fintech and cryptocurrency. She comes from Tearsheet, where she served as an editor for a little over a year. Prior to that, Macheel was a reporter for American Banker and CoinDesk.
Chuck Carter has been hired by WTXF-TV, the FOX-affiliate in Philadelphia, as executive producer. He was previously an assistant news director and executive producer at WTNH-TV in New Haven, Connecticut for a little more than a year. Prior to that, he spent four years at WPIX-TV in New York as managing editor.
