CisionScoop: Sarah Mervosh has joined The New York Times Express Desk as reporter. She was most recently an investigative reporter for The Dallas Morning News, covering enterprise, courts, general assignments and criminal justice during her nearly six years with the outlet. The NYT Express Desk covers global breaking news stories for the web.
CisionScoop: The New York Times Express Desk has also welcomed Mihir Zaveri as reporter. He most recently covered Harris County for the Houston Chronicle. He joined the Chronicle in 2014, and has also covered The Woodlands, Montgomery County, Pearland and Brazoria County.
Jessica Contrera is the newest addition to the Washington Post, and joined the local Enterprise team July 9. She joined WaPo in 2014 as style intern, and since then has reported on a variety of human interest and enterprise stories. She is a graduate of Indiana University’s Ernie Pyle Scholars Program.
Meredith Corporation has named Amy Conway editor in chief of Health magazine. She will oversees content and editorial operations for the Health brand. She comes from Martha Stewart Weddings, where she has been editor in chief since January 2016. Conway has held several leadership roles at the Martha Stewart brand, including editor at large and executive editor of Martha Stewart Living, and editor of Martha Stewart's best-selling cookbooks, Martha Stewart's Cookies and Martha Stewart's Cooking School.
Audrey Lee has been hired by KLUC-FM in Las Vegas as midday on-air personality, effective July 2. She previously held on-air roles at WKQQ-FM in Winchester, Kentucky, WWTF-AM in Georgetown, D.C., and WLLK-FM in Lexington Kentucky.
Fashion news writer Maria Ward is no longer at Vogue. She left the magazine after eight years at the outlet. Ward joined Vogue in 2010 an intern, and has since worked as a freelance researcher and staff writer.
Jeff Harris has been named news director at WBBM-TV, the CBS affiliate in Chicago, effective July 16. He comes from WEWS-TV in Cleveland, where he worked as news director for the past four years. Prior to that, he was the news director at KMGH-TV in Denver for almost a decade.
KFOG-FM in San Francisco has hired Jacent Jackson as program director. He comes from CBS Radio, where he spent the last four years as program director. Prior to that, he worked for Milwaukee Radio Alliance and Emmis Communications.
Ely Yu is the newest reporter for WAMU-FM in Washington, D.C., covering general assignment news. She comes from WABE in Atlanta after three years as reporter/producer at the radio station. Prior to that, Yu worked for Georgia Public Broadcasting.
WZTU-FM, the Spanish contemporary radio station in Miami, has brought on Walo Davila as program director, effective July 9. He works with on-air personalities and sales to oversee music programming as well as broadcast and digital operations at the station. Davila is a radio veteran and has worked for SBC PR in Puerto Rico and Univision Radio in Miami and New York.
