The Big Listen, WAMU-FM's show introducing listeners to podcasts and inside scoop on already popular shows, has ended. It has been replaced by syndicated NPR programming, in particular It's Been a Minute on Fridays, 10-11pm effective June 29, and All Things Considered for Sundays 6-7pm, effective July 1.
Longtime Chicago sports beat writer Chris Kuc has joined NHL.com as correspondent covering hockey and the Chicago Blackhawks. Kuc was a casualty of the March Chicago Tribune layoffs, when dozens of staffers lost their jobs. He had worked for the Tribune since 2007 in a variety of positions.
