Current China business editor at The Wall Street Journal, John Corrigan, will make a move to the paper's Washington bureau as business editor in January. He joined the Journal’s Beijing bureau in his current role in 2016,and was part of the team that produced last year’s China Surveillance series, which won the Loeb Award in International Reporting. Before that, Corrigan had a long run at the Los Angeles Times, including stints as business editor and as assistant managing editor for arts and entertainment.
Sara Germano is now a correspondent for The Wall Street Journal covering business in Germany. She is based in the Berlin Bureau. She has been with the Journal since 2012, when she joined the staff as online editor. Before that, she spent two years at Dow Jones newswires as a reporter/researcher.
POPSUGAR has hired Jesa Marie Calaor as assistant beauty editor. She comes from Allure, where she spent the last two years as editorial assistant. Prior to that she interned at American Society of Magazine Editors, as well as Family Circle magazine.
Lucia Moses has joined Business Insider as deputy editor, overseeing coverage of the media and the advertising industries. She was most recently the executive editor for Digiday, and has been on staff since 2014 when she joined as senior editor. Before that, she was at Adweek, and also spent five years at Mediaweek.
Morning Consult has welcomed Sarah Shevenock is an entertainment industry reporter; she will also write the morning newsletter covering the business of entertainment. She began her duties on Nov. 15, and is a recent graduate of the College of William and Mary.
Inside Radio has launched a sister publication, Podcast News Daily, Nov. 16 edited by veteran radio writer Frank Saxe. The daily newsletter offers relevant news from the podcasting world, as well as insights, trends and analysis that help podcast businesses.
Jacqueline Corba is a new producer for the CNBC "Squawk Box" show. She previously spent two years at Cheddar as a producer and a senior producer, and before that worked as a broadcast associate and an associate producer at “CBS This Morning” for three years. Corba has also contributed to Politico.
KCCI-TV, the CBS station in Des Moines, Iowa, has named Allison Smith news director, succeeding Dave Busiek who retires at the end of the year. She joins the station after four years as assistant news director at WLWT.-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio, and before that she worked as an executive producer at WSYX-TV in Columbus, Ohio.
