Media Moves at Fortune & CBS News, New Sports Reporter at Chicago Sun-Times

Kathryn Krupnik has joined the Washington bureau of CBS News as a producer covering transportation. She was previously a producer for Fox News "Sunday with Chris Wallace," and before that spent four years at CBS Newspath as an associate producer. She began her career in 2006 at WCSH-TV in Portland, Maine. 

Bloomberg BNA has tapped John Dunbar as investigations editor; he will handle investigative coverage for the legal, tax, environment, and government markets. Dunbar is an award-winning investigative journalist, who most recently served as the CEO of the Center for Public Integrity. Before talking the top position at the Center, he had served as a reporter, project manager, deputy executive editor, and political editor. Dunbar has also been a reporter with the Associated Press and the Florida Times-Union.

The Washington Post has announced a number of moves on its National Politics desk:

  • John Drescher will  join as deputy editor on the national politics investigations team on Jan. 22. He is currently an opinion and solutions editor for The News & Observer, and has been with the paper since 2002. Prior to that, he was the managing editor of The Slate for two years. 
  • Sean Sullivan is now national politics reporter and part of the campaign team. He was previously a congressional reporter for the paper, and has been on staff since 2012. 
  • Chelsea Janes will move to the national politics desk at the end of December, and will cover the 2020 presidential election as a reporter. She was most recently a sports reporter for WaPo, covering the Nationals baseball team since 2013. 

Danielle Abril has joined Fortune as a tech reporter based in Dallas. She comes from D CEO, where she served as managing editor for two years. Prior to that, she covered technology, retail and hospitality for the Dallas Business Journal for three years. 

WBEZ-FM radio in Chicago has named Jennifer White as host of its "Morning Shift" show, effective Jan. 7. She succeeds Tony Sarabia, who is signing off Dec. 21 after 28 years at the station. White has been with the station since 2016, and joined the staff from Michigan Public Media, where she had worked since 1999. At WBEZ she has served as the Friday host/anchor of "Morning Shift," and host of WBEZ's podcasts “Making Oprah” and “Making Obama.”

Jason Lieser is the new sports reporter at the Chicago Sun-Times covering the Blackhawks hockey beat. He previously spent 12 years at the Palm Beach Post as a sports reporter, where he covered the Miami Dolphins American football team.
