Media Moves at Fox News & WaPo, EIC of San Diego Business Journal Steps Down
Veteran sports journalist Mark Bradley will join the Washington Post Jan. 7, where he will serve as a multiplatform editor on the sports night desk. He is currently wrapping up his duties as sports columnist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where he has covered college and professional sports, including the Washington Nationals, Atlanta Braves, University of Georgia and Atlanta Hawks, since 1984.
The Philadelphia Media Network has appointed Lison Joseph as deputy business editor overseeing business coverage at Philadelphia Inquirer, Philly.com, and Daily News. He comes from the Dallas Morning News, where he spent the last year-and-a-half as an assistant business editor. Prior to that, he worked for LNP Media Group -- formerly Lancaster Newspapers -- as enterprise editor.
After nearly five years leading the newsroom of the San Diego Business Journal, Nels Jensen has resigned from his post as editor in chief. He joined the staff as the top editor in 2014 from The Press-Enterprise, where he served as editor and VP of news and content. Stepping in as interim editor in chief is Vik Jolly, who has been the managing editor of the Business Journal since 2017.
David Spunt has joined Fox News Channel as Washington correspondent. He was previously a reporter for KYW-TV in Philadelphia since 2014, and before that spent five years as a reporter at WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The Points Guy, the blog covering travel with a focus on frequent flyer programs, has hired Scott Mayerowitz as executive news director, effective Jan. 11. He comes from the Associated Press, where he has been since 2011 and served as a reporter, editor for digital storytelling, and most recently, deputy business editor for storytelling.
KC Crain has been named publisher of Crain's Detroit Business. He will continue to be the president and COO of Crain Communications; he is also a member of the third generation of family ownership at Crain. Before that, he spent three years as publisher of Adweek.
KCSP-AM sports radio in Kansas City, Missouri, has promoted Steven Spector to program director, upped from assistant program director. He succeeds John Hanson, who has moved to WCCO in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As assistant program director Spector also produced the station’s afternoon show hosted by Carrington Harrison and Brad Fanning. He joined KCSP in 2013 from WTEM in Washington, D.C.
