Media Moves at Politico & Fortune, New Standards and Ethics Editor at WSJ
The Wall Street Journal has named Emma Moody standards and ethics editor; she replaces Neal Lipschultz. Moody most recently served as WSJ’s deputy chief news editor, and before that she was Page One news editor. She joined the paper in 2009 as markets editor after spending 13 years at Bloomberg News.
Kathrine Dunn has joined Fortune as associate editor based in London. She comes from S&P Global where she spent two years as associate editor. Before that she covered agricultural and commodities markets for The Wall Street Journal and has also worked for Maclean’s Magazine and The Canadian Press.
Royal Media has hired Greg Bartalos as editorial director and will oversee content strategy, production and editorial events for Air Cargo World and Auto Finance News. Bartalos is the former editor in chief of Barrons.com, a position he held for 11 years. Before that he worked for Yahoo! Finance as assistant managing editor, and Barrons.com as senior editor before that.
Angela Greiling Keane is the new deputy managing editor for POLITICO States, covering state government and politics based in Washington, D.C. She was previously the deputy editor for the outlet and before that worked for Politico Pro as deputy technology editor. Greiling joined the Politico team in 2014 after seven years reporting for Bloomberg.
Over on the POLITICO print side, editor in chief Blake Hounshell will transition to editorial director of Politico.com in mid-April. He has been the top editor of the magazine since December 2018 and joined the staff in 2013 as deputy editor. Prior to that, Hounshell served as managing editor for Foreign Policy magazine.
Jonathan Adams has joined the Houston Business Journal as associate editor. He will oversee HBJ’s Special Reports with a focus on a different industry each week. Adams was most recently an editor at Karnes Countywide and before that worked for the Williamson Country Sun as a sports editor/reporter.
Bloomberg Law has hired Lydia Wheeler as a senior legal reporter, effective April 1. She is part of the health and benefits team covering legal developments in health care and ERISA litigation. Wheeler comes from The Hill, where she spent four years as a legal and regulatory affairs reporter, and federal regulations reporter before that.
Howard Altman has been tapped as managing editor for Military Times. Most recently, he was a military senior reporter for the Tampa Bay Times and wrote breaking news and enterprise stories. Prior to that he spent 11 years at the Tampa Tribune covering military affairs.
KFOR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has hired Peyton Yager as a reporter. He was previously an anchor/reporter for KNWA-TV in Fayetteville, Arizona, and before that has interned at Spectrum TV and KXAN-TV, both in Austin, Texas.
Macy Jenkins has joined KDFW-TV, the Fox station in Dallas, as a reporter in the Fort Worth bureau. She comes from KOVR-TV in Sacramento, California, and has also worked as a multimedia journalist at KTHV-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas, and as a reporter at KOLR-TV in Washington, D.C.
