Media Moves at Bustle Digital Group & NBC Sports Chicago, WSJ Hires Three Political Reporters in DC

The Wall Street Journal has hired three political reporters all located in the Washington, D.C., bureau:

·         Lindsay Wise has joined the Congress reporting team. She comes from the Kansas City Start and McClatchy’s Midwest I-Team, where she was an enterprise reporter covering Congress. Before that, she was reporting for the Houston Chronicle and covered veterans and the city’s Arab and Muslim communities.

·         Chad Day has joined the national politics team covering the 2020 campaign as a data reporter. He was previously with the Associated Press and part of the Russia investigation team. Before that he was an investigative reporter at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

·         Eliza Collins has joined the national politics team as a reporter covering the 2020 Democratic candidates. She was previously a reporter for USA Today where she covered Congress and the 2018 midterms.  Before that, she worked for POLITICO.

Emma Rosenblum has been named editor in chief of Bustle Digital Group’s lifestyle division, which includes Bustle, The Zoe Report, Elite Daily and Romper.  She comes from Elle where she spent two years as executive editor, and before that she served as editorial director of Bloomberg’s Pursuits vertical, focused on luxury lifestyle and fashion.

The Albuquerque Journal has brought on Stephen Hamway as a reporter covering retail and tourism. He was previously a public lands reporter at The Bulletin in Oregon for two years, and a business reporter for the publication for two years before that.  

Joshua Fechter will move to the City Hall beat at the San Antonio Express-News. He will make the transition in July and is currently a business reporter for the paper, where he has covered retail and tourism for the business news desk since August 2014. Before that, Fechter was an intern at the San Antonio Express-News.

NBC Sports Chicago has recruited Ed McGregor as vice president of content strategy, succeeding Kevin Cross who is now and SVP and general manager. McGregor will lead the regional sports network’s multi-platform portfolio, including live events, programming, digital media, news, and original content. He is a former director of content integration at ESPN, and has also previously served as senior editor, deputy editor, and general editor for ESPN The Magazine for 12 years.

WORC-FM country radio in Eastern Massachusetts has hired one and promoted another of its staff:

·         Chuck Perks has joined the station as program director, and will continue in his current role as PD of classic hits sister station WWFX-FM. He has previously worked for WFTQ Internet Radio and CBS Radio.

·         Keith Stephens has been promoted to program director, upped from director of promotions at the station. He can also be heard on-air at the station from 7 p.m. to midnight and has been with the station since 2015.

After 31 years at WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, Monica Malpass has left the station to pursue several national and international opportunities.  She was the main anchor for the 5:30 p.m. Action News broadcast and joined the ABC station in 1988.  She was also a host of the 6abc political roundtable program “Inside Story.”
