Media Moves at Fortune & NBC News, Bloomberg News Hires Transportation Reporter in London
Fortune magazine has announced several editorial updates, including the return of two editors and the promotions of the two others:
· Brian O’Keefe has returned as deputy editor. He spent the last year as the editor in chief at IBM and before that worked for Fortune for almost two decades. He joined the magazine in 2000 as a reporter and eventually became assistant managing editor, international editor, and most recently deputy editor.
· Lee Clifford has returned as senior editor of finance for Fortune print and Fortune digital. He is another former veteran staffer of the magazine and started his career in business journalism at SmartMoney. He joined Fortune in 2000 and went on to be named one of the top “30 Under 30” business journalists nationwide. Clifford left Fortune in 2010 and co-founded Altruette, a startup that makes products to raise funds and awareness for important causes.
· Kristen Bellstrom has been promoted to features editor. She was most recently the deputy digital editor and has been with Fortune since 2015. Prior to that, she spent three years as a senior editor at Money magazine.
· Matthew Heimer has been promoted to senior features editor for both print and online, upped from features editor. He has been with Fortune since 2015 and joined the staff as senior investing editor. Heimer has also worked for MarketWatch, Smart Money, and Brill’s Content Magazine.
Emily Pandise has been promoted to associate producer for the Business Unit at NBC News. She was most recently an assignment editor on the Network Desk and has been with the network since 2017 when she joined as a researcher.
Bloomberg News has hired Simon Foy as a London-based reporter covering the transportation industry. Foy was most recently a freelance contributor for The Irish Times and The Sunday Business Post. Before that, he spent almost a year as an editor at large and opinion editor before that for The University Times, Ireland's largest newspaper, published from Trinity College Dublin.
Angel Idowu has been named full-time arts reporter at WTTW, the PBS station in Chicago, effective July 15. She was most recently a reporter/producer for WJTV, the CBS affiliate in Jackson, Mississippi, and before that served as digital correspondent for Pretoria News, a daily newspaper based in Pretoria, South Africa.
“Rise + Live” is a newly launched digital talk show created by Suzanne Boyd and Eric Roby, two of the most recognizable TV personalities in South Florida. The morning program streams live on Facebook, YouTube and the R + L website every Friday at 9 a.m. and focuses on what makes South Florida great by featuring local news in a new way. Roby is a former anchor and investigative reporter for WPEC-TV, the CBS station in West Palm Beach, Florida. Boyd is also a former morning anchor for WPEC-TV and retired from the news business in 2018.
