Benjamin Landy has been named executive editor, digital, for Fast Company, effective November 11. He comes from Vanity Fair, where he most recently served as deputy editor of The Hive, Vanity Fair’s multimedia platform for technology, media, politics, and business news. In addition to editing online features and news, he oversaw this year’s New Establishment list -- a staple of Vanity Fair for nearly 25 years -- and produced the weekly Hive podcast. Prior to that, Landy was the homepage and opinion editor for MSNBC online.
Forbes magazine has added one more editor to its ever-growing roster, and promoted another:
Benjamin Katz has joined The Wall Street Journal as a London-based reporter covering aerospace and aviation. He works closely with The Journal’s Chicago and Los Angeles bureaus, and is responsible for corporate coverage of Airbus, as well as anything that flies over European airspace–including airliners, fighter jets and drones. Katz joined The Journal from Bloomberg, where he covered defense, aerospace, airlines, transport, and government since 2014.
Real Simple has named Rory Evans executive editor and will help strategize integrated and branded content. She was previously the executive editor of Family Circle, which will fold after the December 2019 issue. Evans has also freelanced for several publications, including Allure, Elle, Glamour, GQ, HGTV Magazine, InStyle, Marie Claire, New York, New York Times Magazine, and others.
Brendan Smyth has been promoted to publisher for Health. He was most recently the publisher of Family Circle and has been with Meredith Corp since 2016 and has also previously led the sales and marketing efforts of Rachael Ray Every Day. Prior to that, Smyth spent two years as the group associate publisher for Sunset Magazine and Coastal Living.
