Thrillist has welcomed Tae Yoon as NYC editor. He's been a contributor to VICE since 2013, in addition to writing for their food channel MUNCHIES since launching in 2014. Yoon has also freelanced for Eater, Gothamist, and Edible Queens.
Laura Mandaro has joined The Information as editor, effective April 20. She comes from Forbes, where she was the assistant managing editor for technology and innovation since 2018. Before that, Mandaro worked for USA TODAY as tech and science editor, and before that spent four years at MarketWatch.
The Wall Street Journal has hired Kyle Kim as a graphics reporter. He was most recently a data and graphics reporter for the Los Angeles Times and had been on staff since 2014. Prior to that, Kim worked for GlobalPost, a digital journalism company that focuses on international news.
Lee Hale has joined NPR in Washington as a producer for "All Things Considered." He was previously religion and education reporter for KUER-AM (NPR Utah) and "Preach" podcast host on which he interviewed celebrities and prominent thinkers on their spirituality. Hale has also served as Kroc Fellow at NPR from 2015 to 2016.
KSLA-TV, the CBS-affiliated station in Shreveport, Louisiana, has brought on Sarah Purciful as general manager. She had been general manager of sister stations in WHSV-TV and WSVF-TV in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and succeeds Joe Sciortino, who moved to WAFB-TV, Gray’s station in Baton Rouge.
Olivia Dangler is the new news director for WHTM-TV, the ABC station in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She comes from WTTV-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she had served as assistant news editor for five years, Dangler has also worked as executive producer for WFAA-TV in Dallas and WXIN-TV in Indianapolis.
