Beginning May 18, 2020, the Media Moves posts will reduce editions to twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is a temporary change in our schedule.
Bloomberg Law has hired Ian Kullgren as labor reporter, effective May 11. He comes from Politico where he most recently covered immigration and employment. Kullgren had joined the staff in 2016 as agriculture reporter and before that covered regional politics for The Oregonian.
Nathaniel Taplin is the new Asia "Heard on the Street" editor for The Wall Street Journal. He oversees the Hong Kong based columnists. Taplin has been with The Journal's Heard column since 2016 and before that was a Shanghai-based reporter for Reuters and a global energy analyst for Dragonomics/Gavekal before that.
The 74, the non-profit site covering education, has recruited veteran journalist Patrick O'Donnell as a coronavirus crisis correspondent covering COVID-19 and educating children during a pandemic in Ohio. He spent the past 30 years as education reporter at The Plain Dealer in Cleveland.
ABC has announced an addition and a promotion at its "Good Morning America" program:
British freelance writer and editor Martha Hayes is now based in Los Angeles and available for US commissions, shifts or consultancy. She has 14 years of experience as an entertainment journalist and has written cover stories and profile interviews for The Guardian, The Telegraph, Marie Claire, ELLE and Cosmopolitan. In the UK, she was Entertainment Director of Marie Claire UK before moving to The Guardian as a Commissioning Editor.
