Samira Nasr has been appointed editor in chief of the U.S. edition of Harper’s BAZAAR, overseeing content strategy and development across the brand’s print and digital platforms.She begins July 6. Nasr was most recently executive fashion director at Vanity Fair, where she managed and directed the magazine's fashion department and all fashion content. She is no stranger to Hearst Magazines, and has previously worked as fashion director at ELLE for five years. Prior to that, she was style director for InStyle.
The New York Times has welcomed Luke Broadwater as Congressional reporter based in Washington, D.C. He comes from The Baltimore Sun, where he has worked for nearly a decade and covered the Maryland State House and Baltimore City Hall, among other assignments.
Mark Di Stefano has joined The Information as a reporter and covers Amazon and big tech’s European battles from London. He was previously a media and tech reporter for the Financial Times and before that worked at BuzzFeed as political editor, and media and politics correspondent.
The Energy Daily has tapped Ellen Meyers as renewable energy reporter; she started June 15. Meyers was most recently a power finance reporter at S&P Global for three years, and her reporting focused on utilities and electricity markets' financial and regulatory activity in the Southeast, from Tennessee to Florida to Arkansas. Before that served as lead producer at TheNewsHouse.com.
Zohreen Shah has been promoted to multiplatform reporter for ABC News; she is based in Los Angeles. Shah was most recently a 2020 presidential campaign producer/reporter for the network and joined ABC in 2019 from KTTV-TV, where she was a reporter covering top local stories in the L.A. market. Shah has also reported for KSWB-TV in San Diego and KTXL-TV in Sacramento, California.
Meredith Corporation has named Rob Silverstein executive producer/showrunner of its new daily, syndicated half-hour TV show based on the content of the PEOPLE brand. He will oversee all aspects of the new program, which will launch in Meredith's local television markets in fall 2020. Silverstein is a veteran executive producer and has spent the last 20 years as EP of "Access Hollywood." The PEOPLE half-hour TV program will be inspired by the iconic brand's unique combination of the most popular celebrity and inspirational human-interest stories including entertainment news, exclusive interviews, feature stories, beauty and style, true crime, and more. The daily strip will air Monday - Friday in all 12 Meredith markets including Atlanta, Phoenix, St. Louis, Portland, Nashville, Kansas City, Hartford-New Haven, Greenville-Spartanburg, Las Vegas, Mobile-Pensacola, Flint-Saginaw, and Springfield-Holyoke, Massachusetts.
