Business Insider has added two new reporters:
Rolling Stone has promoted Tim Chan to director of products and commerce. In this newly created role, he will lead the company's growing e-commerce vertical, while continuing to manage lifestyle and shopping coverage for the magazine. Chan was promoted a year after joining Rolling Stone as their first-ever lifestyle and market editor. He previously spent three years as the managing editor of the men's lifestyle site, Spy.com.
Kimbriell Kelly has been named Washington bureau chief at the Los Angeles Times, effective Nov. 4. She will succeed David Lauter, who will become senior Washington correspondent. Kelly joined the paper in 2012 as an investigative reporter and moved to Washington as deputy editor for enterprise and investigations in mid-2019. Since then, she has edited the immigration coverage that led to the bureau’s first Pulitzer Prize in 17 years. Prior to the LA Times, Kelly worked for the Washington Post and the Chicago Reporter.
The Times Union in Albany, New York, has appointed two new managing editors:
Meagan Fitzgerald has been named Chicago-based correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC. She was previously a weekend morning news anchor at WRC-TV, the NBC-owned station in Washington, D.C. She has previously worked for KUSA in Denver, and KTVE in El Dorado, Arkansas.
KABC-TV, the ABC affiliate in Los Angeles, has named Pamela K. Chen as VP and news director. She joined KABC in 2004 as a morning producer of the Eyewitness News 5 a.m. newscast, later transitioning to producing the evening newscast. She has also served as executive producer for four years and was named assistant news director in 2019.
