Emilio Garcia-Ruiz has been named editor in chief of the San Francisco Chronicle, effective September 21. He will oversee all news and content across print and digital platforms for the Chronicle. Garcia-Ruiz has been managing editor of digital for The Washington Post since 2013. Previously, he was editor for strategic projects at The Post and led development of all digital products, including mobile apps, e-book projects and website development. Garcia-Ruiz spent more than 20 years during two stints at The Post and has also served as local editor, sports editor and deputy sports editor during his tenures.
The Los Angeles Times has named Angel Jennings assistant managing editor for culture and talent. She oversees the MetPro and internship programs as well as works closely with HR and department heads to help manage and promote diversity, equity, inclusion and access. Jennings was most recently a reporter at the paper and has been on staff since 2011. Prior to that, she worked for The Wall Street Journal.
New York Times sports writer Kurt Streeter has picked up an extra assignment at the paper as a columnist penning the popular Sports of The Times column. He has been with the paper since 2017 and before that had stints at the Los Angeles Times and ESPN The Magazine.
Amir Efrati has been promoted to executive editor of The Information. He was most recently a senior reporter of the tech publication and helped launch the outlet in 2013.Prior to that, Efrati spent nine years at The Wall Street Journal and reported on a variety of beats including Internet companies such as Google, Yahoo, Twitter, Facebook, the legal industry, health, and real estate.
Real Vision television has welcomed Haley Draznin as a reporter and producer. She previously spent nine years at CNN, most recently as a reporter/producer for CNN Business and the "Boss Files with Poppy Harlow." During her tenure at CNN, Draznin has also covered the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections and produced live shows ahead of the political conventions and debates.
Alexandra “Ayeeedubb” Wurst has been named music director and midday personality at WQOK-FM radio in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. effective September 7. She succeeds Autumn Joi. Wurst was previously hosting morning at WAJZ-FM in Albany, New York.
WNDV-FM radio in South Bend, Indiana, has recruited two new hosts for its morning drive and debuted the "Goose and Jodee" morning show:
