Effort and effectiveness of social marketing tactics

Handling Comms During COVID-19? We've compiled our best resources.

Vocus recently sponsored a MarketingSherpa Special Report: Social Media– Creating a Tactical Plan of Action that has received solid reviews from readers, including one professor that plans to use it as part of her program of instruction.

The full report requires registration – this is clearly part of our marketing effort – but I found this chart in this report so compelling, I wanted to share it here.  The chart compares the effectiveness of individual social media channels with the level of effort each channel requires.

No surprise that “blogger relations” tops the chart for effectiveness, but it also requires a substantial level of effort.  Let’s face it:  relationship building takes work.  However, I was also struck that microblogs like Twitter are depicted as require minimal effort while scoring well on results.

What tactics have been effective for you?  How much time do you invest in them?
