The Chicago Tribune has appointed three of its staff to new roles. Peter Kendall has been promoted to managing editor, after having served as deputy managing editor since 2009. He also served as associate managing metro editor and as a reporter covering environment and conservation issues for the paper. Additionally, Colin McMahon is now associate editor, after having served as the cross media editor since September 2014. In his tenure with the paper, he has also served as the national content editor, the weekend editor, an associate perspective editor, Latin America correspondent and military affairs editor. Lastly, Marcia Lythcott, who served as editor of Style and Home and assisted with major research projects, has been named commentary editor for the paper. She joined the Tribune in 1982 after covering education and the police beat for a local newspaper in Madison, Wisconsin.
