The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has revealed the team of writers and producers for the upcoming fall debut on CBS. Coming from The Colbert Report are executive producers Tom Purcell and Meredith Bennett. Purcell, who will also write for The Late Show, was executive producer and a writer, while Bennett was a co-executive producer. Co-executive producers Emily Lazar and Barry Julien also come from the Report. Lazar will be responsible for overseeing talent, while Julien will serve as a writer. Lastly, supervising producer and executive-in-charge Tanya Bracco will join The Late Show. They all follow the previously announced Emily Gertler and Sheryl Zelikson, new to Colbert’s crew.
Other announcements on the writing team include head writer Opus Moreschi from the Report, who will also serve as supervising producer, and head writer Jay Katsir, also from the Report. They are joined by fellow Report alums Matt Lappin and Paul Dinello, who will serve as supervising producers/writers. The Late Show premieres Sept. 8 on CBS.
