Business Insider has hired Elvina Nawaguna as deputy editor in the Washington, D.C., bureau. She comes from CQ Roll Call where she most recently covered energy and the environment. Prior to that, Nawaguna was economics reporter/editor at Market News International, and a reporter for Reuters before that.
Millie Munshi has bee promoted to agriculture editor and global food czar for Bloomberg News overseeing coverage of the food industry from farm to table. She was most recently the deputy team leader for agriculture Americas and covered agricultural markets and companies. Munshi has been with Bloomberg since 2006 when she joined as commodity markets reporter.
Crain's New York has welcomed Eddie Small as senior real estate reporter. He previously spent three years at The Real Deal as a reporter and columnist, and before that has worked for DNAInfo, The Boston Courant, and The Onion.
Nikki Brown has been named editorial director of BlogHer, the community website for blogging women. Brown has been in the SHE Media family since 2017 and was most recently the senior beauty editor for STYLECASTER. Prior to that, she was the digital hair and beauty editor at Essence and oversaw all beauty and hair verticals at the outlet.
The Washington Missourian has brought Patricia Miller out of retirement and has named her interim editor and publisher. She is the first woman to lead the Missourian and comes to the paper after 33 years at the St. Louis Business Journal, where she was most recently editor and publisher and retired in mid-2018.
MacLeod Hageman is the new morning anchor at WCIA-TV, the CBS-affiliated television station in Champaign, Illinois. He was most recently the evening anchor at WEVV-TV in Evansville, Indiana, and prior to that spent two years as KWWL-TV in Waterloo, Iowa.
iHeartMedia's KUUL-FM and KCQQ-FM in the Quad Cities has promoted Mark Manuel to program director. He will continue to host afternoons on KCQ-FM. Manuel previously served as APD of KCQQ-FM and webmaster for the iHeartMedia Quad Cities cluster. He has worked in the market since 1993 with stints in mornings and afternoons WHTS-FM and mornings at news/talk WOC.
Chris Welter is the new environmental reporter for WYSO-AM public radio in Yellow Springs, Ohio.He completed his radio training program at WYSO’s Eichelberger Center for Community Voices in 2017 and has also edited The Antioch Record.
