Media Moves at ProPublica & Washington Post, InvestmentNews Names New Publisher
The Washington Post has announced the addition of two new reporters and the transition of an editor:
· Harry Stevens will join the Graphics team as a graphics reporter on Sept. 9. He comes from Axios where he was a visual journalist and created hundreds of news graphics across several beats, including politics, finance, science, foreign policy and sports. Before that, he was a reporter and news apps developer at The Hindustan Times in New Delhi.
· Sarah Dadouch will join The Post as a correspondent in the Beirut bureau, effective Sept. 16. She spent the last two years at Reuters with assignments in Beirut, Riyadh and Istanbul.
· Sydney Trent will join the Local Enterprise team as a staff writer. She is a veteran editor at the paper and has spent two decades working for Metro, The Post Magazine, Style and, for the last seven years, as Social Issues editor. She starts her new job in the Fall.
Lydia DePillis has joined the Washington, D.C., newsroom of ProPublica as a reporter covering trade and the economy in the lead up to the 2020 election. She started Aug. 5. She from CNN Business, where she was a senior writer focusing on national economic policies and how they affect people’s lives. Before CNN, DePillis covered Texas’ economy for the Houston Chronicle; labor and the workplace for The Washington Post; and the business, culture and politics of the technology industry for The New Republic.
InvestmentNews has named Christine Shaw publisher and CEO, effective Aug. 16. She joins the publication from Future Plc, where she spent just over a year as managing director and senior vice president of global events and B2B. Her formative experience was at Penwell Corp., where she spent 17 years as senior vice president of the technology division.
Deena Winter is the new reporter at Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal covering retail residential real estate, homebuilding and manufacturing. She was most recently a reporter for Southwest News Media and during her 30-year journalism career has worked for the Associated Press, Denver Post, Bismarck Tribune, Lincoln Journal Star, and others.
KUSA-TV, the NBC-affiliated television station in Denver, Colorado, has welcomed Alexandra Lewis as a reporter and anchor. She was previously an anchor and reporter at KCPQ-TV in Seattle, Washington, for three years and before that reported for WRGT-TV in Dayton, Ohio, for two years.
Jim Wilson has been promoted to news director for WITI-TV, the Fox station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was serving as the acting news director for some time and has been with the station since 1990. Most of that time, Wilson spent as the assistant news director.
