Katie Slaman has been named  CNBC’s San Francisco bureau chief, effective May 1.  She has been a mainstay at CNBC since 2011 and most recently served a senior enterprise editor in Englewood Cliffs, California. Prior to CNBC, Slaman spent a decade at ABC News as a producer.

Forbes has continued its staff promotions spree and announced the following:

  • Michael del Castillo is now associate editor, upped from staff writer, and continues to cover  all things blockchain and crypto. He has been with Forbes since 2018.
  • Justin Conklin has been promoted to  manager of editorial operations. He was most recently the product manager, lists, and joined Forbes in 2016 as an editorial assistant.
  • Katherine Love has also been promoted to manager of editorial operations, upped from associate manager, editorial operations. She has been with Forbes since 2015, when she joined as an intern.

Heidi Vogt is the new deputy technology and cybersecurity editor for POLITICO. She was most recently   a freelancer in Washington, D.C., and before that, worked as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal. From 2013 to 2016 she also served as The Journal's  East Africa correspondent.

Telemundo in Miami has tapped Kristina Puga as a writer and producer for “Pulso News,” a millennial-geared news show on the new mobile platform Quibi, which launched on April 6. She comes Business Wire where she was an editor since 2015. She has also served as a contributing writer for NBCNews.com, focusing on the Latino community in the U.S.

Eytan Shander has joined SBNation Radio as a host of "The Second Level with Eytan Shander" airing weekdays from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. He previously hosted overnights on the network and will continue to host a Saturday evening program as well. Shander has previously worked as a host at WIP and WPEN-FM Philadelphia and has also been on staff at NBC Sports Radio and SiriusXM.
