Isabella Kwai is the latest addition to The New York Times' London newsroom. Kwai joined the staff in 2017 and helped found the bureau in Sydney for The New York Times, also contributing to recent coverage of the protests in Hong Kong and has also written the European Briefing newsletter.
Business Insider has two new staffers, including John Dorman, who is now a senior politics reporter for the site. Dorman was previously with The New York Times for nearly a decade, contributing to the Travel and Business desks, also covering social media strategy, newsletter editing and graphic design. Also, Yeji Jesse Lee rejoined Business Insider as a writer, covering cannabis. Lee was most recently a summer staff reporter for The Globe and Mail's Report on Business vertical, and prior to this, reported on cannabis for Business Insider as an editorial fellow.
Spotlight PA announced its merger with the PA Post, joining together the two statewide news organizations. Both launched within the last year as independent, non-partisan news services providing coverage of state government and statewide issues to Pennsylvania media outlets. Spotlight PA brings together its original partners, The Philadelphia Inquirer, PennLive/The Patriot-News and TribLive/Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, with WITF Public Media, original founders of the PA Post project. Two new reporters joining Spotlight from the PA Post are Ed Mahon and Joseph Darius Jaafari. Mahon previously reported for the PA Post and WITF Public Media, the York Daily Record, Centre Daily Times, Philadelphia Inquirer and the News of Delaware County. Jaafari also worked for he PA Post and WITF Public Media, and was previously a Tow Fellow for The Marshall Project, staff writer for Nation Swell, and has contributed to VICE, Rolling Stone, The Atlantic and Gothamist.
Erin Edgemon is now managing editor for the Phoenix Business Journal. She was most recently a staff writer for sister publication the Austin Business Journal, covering real estate. Prior to this, she covered metro news for the Alabama Media Group. She has also written for The Daily Post-Athenian, Murfreesboro Post, Daily News Journal of Murfreesboro and the Roane County News.
Liz Engel joined the reporting staff of the Cincinnati Business Courier to cover the local healthcare and technology industries, including the CincyInno vertical on local startups. Engel recently contributed to a variety of outlets, including Forbes, Cindy Magazine, WCPO-TV, and the Knoxville News-Sentinel. Before that, Engel was managing editor for the Upper Cumberland Business Journal and was a reporter and special sections editor for the Herald-Citizen.
Rudy Murrieta is the new managing editor at KOKI-TV, the FOX affiliate for Tulsa, Oklahoma. Murietta previously served as assistant news director for WGCL-TV, the Atlanta CBS station. Prior to this, he was news director for News 13 Orlando, following roles as executive producer for KLAS-TV, assistant news director for KTNV-TV and executive producer for WINK-TV.
Randy Houston moved to KRNH-FM (San Antonio, Texas) as program director, also hosting the morning show. Houston comes to KRNH from KPLM-FM in Palm Desert, California. Houston has worked in broadcasting for over three decades, in Colorado, Arizona, Mississippi and other regions.
