Health magazine has welcomed Rosemary Donahue as senior features editor for digital, effective August 9. She was most recently the wellness editor at Allure and before that served as the weekend editor for the magazine. Donahue has also previously worked from Brit + Co and HelloGiggles.

Lauren Eggertsen has been promoted to editorial director of WhoWhatWear, upped from senior fashion editor. Eggertsen has been at the outlet since 2015 when she joined as associate fashion editor. Before that, she worked for Zoe Media Group and interned at Marie Claire.

The Hollywood Reporter has hired Patricia Mays as executive editor of news, overseeing the digital news strategy of the publication; she starts August 16. Mays comes to THR from ESPN, where she oversaw the national coverage team of correspondents, field producers and assignment desk editors for ESPN's flagship news program, SportsCenter, as well as other TV studio shows, live events and digital. 

Stephanie Breijo has joined the reporting staff of the Food section at the Los Angeles Times. Most recently, she was the restaurants and bars editor at Time Out Los Angeles, where she worked for four years. Breijo has also previously contributed to the Food section as a freelancer and before Time Out, she was the dining editor of Richmond Magazine.

The Cut has hired Asia Milia Ware as fashion and beauty junior writer. She joins The Cut from Teen Vogue where she served as an editorial assistant. Before that, Ware spent two years at Fashion Bomb Dailyas a fashion writer.

The New York Times Magazine has announced changes in title and responsibilities of two senior editors:

  • Bill Wasik has been promoted to editorial director. In his new role, he is responsible for the way issues come together every week. Wasik spent the past seven years as deputy editor at the magazine, and prior to that he was a senior editor at Wired for four years.
  • Ilena Silverman is now deputy editor, features, upped from features editor, a position she's held for seven years. In her new role, Silverman will be doing more top editing.

Katrice Hardy has been named executive editor of The Dallas Morning News. She comes to The News from the Indianapolis Star where she was the executive editor since early 2020 and led the paper to a Pulitzer Prize in national reporting in 2020. She was also the first African American and the first woman to serve as executive editor of the Star. Prior to Gannett, Hardy spent three years at USA TODAY Network as the top editor of the Greenville News.

Bloomberg News has promoted Wendy Benjaminson to deputy managing editor of Bloomberg Politics, upped from politics editor. She joined Bloomberg in 2019 from McClatchy, where she was the managing editor for a year. Prior to that, Benjaminson was the managing editor, government and politics, at USA Today, and before that she spent 12 years at the Associated Press.

Jacob Abbott is the newest reporter at the Sacramento Business Journal. Most recently, he was the managing editor of the Appeal-Democrat, where he oversaw content for monthly and quarterly special sections in addition to a daily print and online publication. Abbott also served as the editor in chief of The State Hornet, the student newspaper of Sacramento State University.

Houston Business Journal has welcomed Emily Burleson as a reporter on the energy beat. She covers all aspects of Houston’s energy industry, which includes upstream, midstream, downstream and the professionals behind them. She will also focus on the energy transition. Most recently, Burleson was at S&P Global Platts and covered Aromatics petrochemical markets in the Americas, assessing prices, writing commentaries and news, and meeting with producers, buyers and brokers in those markets. 

Katherine Doherty has moved to Bloomberg News'  Finance Team to report on Bank of America, Citadel Securities and the exchanges. She was most recently a business reporter for the newswire. Doherty joined Bloomberg in 2017 from Reorg Research where she was distressed debt/bankruptcy reporter.

Reporter Bernadette Berdychowski now covers real estate, retail, and business breaking news for Tampa Bay Times. Most recently, she was an engagement producer at the paper and has been on staff since early 2020. She has also previously reported for Financial Planning and was an editorial intern at Real Vision.

Fortune has welcomed Declan Harty as a Chicago-based finance writer. He previously covered U.S. capital markets and investing for Business Insider, and before that spent four years at S&P Global Intelligence reporting on breaking news, analyses and features on U.S. capital markets, the business of trading, asset management and financial regulation.

Rafael Canton is the new breaking news reporter at Adweek covering marketing, media and commerce. He spent the past seven years freelancing for VICE, Complex, SNY and Bleacher Report. Before that, Canton had a brief stint as a digital producer for Glamour.

Crain's Detroit Business has hired Arielle Kass as a reporter covering residential real estate. She was previously a reporter for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for a decade, most recently covering Gwinnett County and Fulton County. Prior to that, Kass was a reporter for Crain's Cleveland Business.

Alexa St. John is the new Detroit-based reporter for Insider covering the future of the auto industry, the shift to electrification and electric vehicle startups on the transportation desk. She was previously tech and suppliers reporter at Automotive News and reported on the automotive industry through the lens of new vehicle technology and the business of suppliers.

Business North Carolina has hired Colin Campbell to cover the intersection of business and politics; he starts August 23. Campbell is currently wrapping up his duties as editor of NC Insider, a position he has held since 2017. Prior to that, Campbell was a political reporter at The News & Observer for nine years.

David Gura has joined NPR full time as a business correspondent covering Wall Street, markets, and finance. Most recently, he was host and correspondent at MSNBC and NBC News, where he anchored “Up with David Gura.” Before that, he worked at Bloomberg where he co-anchored "Bloomberg Surveillance," the network's flagship morning program.

WRMD-TV, Telemundo's station in Tampa, Florida, has hired Rafael Perez-Narvaez as news director. He comes to the station from WNEU-TV in Boston, where he has been the assistant news director since 2020.

WLNE-TV, the ABC station in Providence, Rhode Island, has hired Kelly Boan as news director. She most recently served as a news director for Fox’s WHNS-TV in Greenville, South Carolina, a position she had held for 16 years.

Leon Henricks has been promoted to news director at WEEK-TV, the NBC/ABC/CW+-affiliated television station in Peoria, Illinois, He has been the assistant news director for the last three years.

WDIO-TV, the ABC affiliate in Duluth, Minnesota, has tapped Rob Heverling as news director. He comes to the station from a brief stint at WXMI-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he was an interim news director. Prior to that, Heverling spent five years as news director at WKBW-TV in Buffalo, New York.

Odette Yousef will join NPR August 30 as national security correspondent. She will report on white nationalism and extremist groups. Yousef is currently wrapping up her duties as a reporter at Chicago's WBEZ-FM, a position she has held since 2010.  She has also previously served as a reporter at City of Atlanta Board of Education news/talk WABE-AM in Atlanta and as an editorial assistant at NPR’s “Talk of the Nation.”

Univision News has promoted Maria Martínez-Guzmán to executive vice president of news, upped from SVP of news. She now oversees editorial and production units of Univision Network’s news properties including the flagship newscast “Noticiero Univision.” Martínez-Guzmán joined Univision Network in 2002 from Univision’s McAllen, Texas, station KNVO-48 and has held numerous production and editorial positions at the company, including executive producer, VP of News Gathering.
