Media Moves at BuzzFeed News & Radio Disney, Promotions at Brides Magazine

BuzzFeed News has named Ashley C. Ford the new host of "Profile," the weekly interview show for Facebook Watch.  The show was previously hosted by Audie Cornish of NPR’s "All Things Considered." Ford is a celebrated writer and podcaster, who has worked for BuzzFeed since 2014. She has also contributed to ELLE and served as a blog editor for Specter Magazine.  

Manny Guevara has joined Radio Disney as a host. He has spent the last two decades at iHeartRadio, and most recently on the "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" show as an on-air personality. Guevara has also acted in the ABC TV series, "Mixology," FXX's "Legit" and feature films "Oliver Twisted" and "First Glance Movie."

The Washington Post has shifted Rhonda Colvin to a Capitol Hill video reporter. She was most recently  a video planning editor for the paper, a position she has held since she joined the staff in 2016. Prior to that, she was a producer for Ideastream, a reporter for The News-Herald, and a producer/reporter for Alabama Public Radio. 

Elaine Low is the new senior TV writer at Variety covering breaking-news stories on all aspects of the television industry, from the executive suite to programming. Her first day was Jan. 7. Low comes from  Investor's Business Daily, where she covered retail, media and personal finance since 2014. Prior to that, she worked at Hungry Girl, Inc. LivingSocial, and Mochi Magazine. 

Brides magazine has announced several promotions on both its print and digital staff:

  • Anna Price Olson is the new director of Real Weddings for the print magazine, upped from editor of Real Weddings. She has been with the outlet since 2014, when she joined as an editorial assistant. 
  • Roberta Correia has been promoted to digital director. She was previously the deputy digital director of the website and has been with Brides since 2015. 
  • Jamie Cuccinelli is now digital editor for Brides.com, upped from associate digital news editor. She has been with Conde Nast since 2015, and joined Brides from Bustle. 
  • Mariah Kulak is the new social media manager for Brides.com. She previously served as the associate social media editor and has been with the magazine since October 2017. 

Luke Torrance has joined the Pittsburgh Business Times as a digital producer. He comes from Blank Slate Media in New York, where he covered the Port Washington area as a reporter. For most of 2016, Torrance covered news and politics in Washington, D.C., for the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire and The Hill. He has also interned at NPR in Pittsburgh, and worked as a freelance reporter for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review 

Morning Consult has hired Mark J. Burns is a senior sports business reporter covering sports business and writing the daily email newsletter SportTechie; he started Jan. 7. Burns has previously contributed to Forbes, and is the founder and editor of the now-defunct Sports Business Chronicle, a media company covering the intersection of sports and business.
