Media Moves at The Atlantic & Politico, Former Vanity Fair Editor Launches Newsletter

Peter Nicholas will join The Atlantic in March as a White House correspondent. For the past seven years, Nicholas has been a politics reporter and White House correspondent for The Wall Street Journal. Before that, he worked as a staff writer and presidential campaigns reporter for The Los Angeles Times. Nicholas covered the 2008 presidential campaign and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s administration from Sacramento. He has also worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer and New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Politico has welcomed Joe Anuta as a reporter at the outlet's New York City Hall bureau. He comes from Crain's New York Business, where he spent the last six years as a senior reporter on the residential real estate beat. Before that, he covered politics, crime and development in Queens for the TimesLedger for three years.

Olivia Carville has taken over the tech beat at Bloomberg News and will cover IBM Corp. and East Coast startups. She has been with the the newswires since 2018 and has been on the wealth team covering how wealth is made, nurtured and lost in America and around the world.

The Washington Post has moved Taylor Telford to the growing general assignment team as a business breaking news reporter. She joined the Post in 2018 after completing an internship on the Style desk in the summer of 2018. She has also interned at the Tampa Bay Times and the Daily Hampshire Gazette in Northampton, Mass.

Former longtime Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter will launch a new, digital, weekly newsletter called Air Mail. It debuts in the summer and targets a young, urban audience interested in global affairs. The new site will include a Saturday newsletter, and will also offer podcasts. It will cover the world outside of America on topics such as politics, business, the environment, the arts, literature, film and television, food, design, travel, architecture, society, fashion, and crime. Carter has partnered with New York Times writer Alessandra Stanley on the project. 

Central Penn Business Journal has hired Kathryn Ross as its new publisher. She will be responsible for overseeing day to day operations of the Business Journal and Central Penn Parent. Ross comes from Kross Strategies in Lancaster, where she served as chief revenue and marketing officer. She has also worked in publishing for The Meredith Corp., Reader’s Digest and Gannett’s USA Weekend.

Vinnee Tong has been promoted to managing editor of news at KQED-FM , the NPR station in San Francisco. She was most recently a producer, editor and reporter specializing in podcast production, and has been at the station since July 2016. Before that, she covered business for the Associated Press for three years. 

Husband and wife duo Allison Seymour and Marc Clark will now host "Afternoons with Allison Seymour and Marc Clarke" on WHUR-FM in Washington, D.C., effective Feb. 12. Seymour is also a part of “Fox 5 Morning News” on WTTG-TV, and Clark is also a host of "Game Changers" on CharmTV in Baltimore.
