Media Moves at CBS This Morning and Bloomberg News, Promotion at Philadelphia Magazine
CBS News has announced changes to who will be anchoring alongside Gayle King on CBS This Morning, as well as moves to other network shows:
- Anthony Mason will be one of the new CBS This Morning co-hosts starting May 20. Mason has been with the network since 1986, where he started as a correspondent on CBS News. He is currently a senior national correspondent for CBS News and a co-host on CBS Morning News: Saturday.
- CBS News Correspondent, Tony Dokoupil, will also be moving to the morning show on May 20. Prior to joining CBS News, he was a correspondent and national reporter with MSNBC, and a senior writer for NBC News.
- Meanwhile, John Dickerson will move from CBS This Morning anchor to a correspondent on 60 Minutes. Dickerson has served as a host, chief Washington correspondent, and political director during his time with the network.
- Norah O’Donnell, who has co-hosted CBS This Morning since 2012, will move on to managing editor of CBS Evening News. Before joining CBS, O’Donnell was chief Washington correspondent for NBC, and a staff reporter with Roll Call.
The Houston Chronicle has promoted Steve Riley to executive editor of the newspaper. He started at the publication as deputy managing editor, and has been serving as interim executive editor since 2018. He was previously with The News & Observer, working up from reporter to senior editor of enterprise.
Liana B. Baker has joined the U.S. deals team as lead for Bloomberg News. In her new role, she will be covering mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, and activism. She comes from Reuters where she held positions as a company news reporter, M&A reporter and team lead.
Fast Company has hired Julia Herbst as its staff editor, covering the Work Life section. Prior to Fast Company, Herbst was with Breaker Magazine as a staff editor. She also spent time at Los Angeles Magazine as an editorial coordinator and associate editor.
WNBC-TV reporter Jummy Olabanji is moving from New York to Washington, D.C. station WRC-TV. Olabanji started her career as a news assistant for CNN, and moved on to report at Virginia stations WTKR-TV and WCAV-TV. Before starting in New York, she was an anchor and reporter at D.C. station WJLA-TV. She begins her new role in July.
